I grew up in NYC, went to undergrad at Princeton, and then got my MFA in creative writing. I spent a lot of my twenties traveling (Africa, India, South America, South East Asia), while writing, and teaching at Brooklyn College and John Jay College in NYC. My brother and I had a start up environmental tech company that we ran for 5 years and sold around the time I started a post-bac at Columbia. I went out to California for med school at Touro. I have 3 kids--8 and 3 year old boys and a 1 year old daughter. My wife somehow keeps all of our lives together all while working full time as an architect.
