Clean endocavitary probes are stored in room 29R (across from the trauma bay)
- After using any of the endocavitary probes, wipe it off with a sani wipe
- Once it has dried, place the probe end in a lab specimen bag
- The used probe should then be placed in the scope cabinet that is in the soiled utility room across from the trauma bay
- During business hours, notify Joe Curcio (5-4302) who will arrange for the probe to be disinfected and returned to room 29R
- Otherwise, each morning, used probes will be taken up to the radiology ultrasound department for high level disinfection
METHODIST
The clean endocavitary probe is stored in the side locker of the “airway” cart
- After using the endocavitary probe, wipe it off with a sani wipe
- Once it has dried, place the probe end in a lab specimen bag
- During business hours, Mary Ditommasso (215-952-9136) will arrange for the probe to be disinfected and returned to the cart
- During off hours, call CPD who will pick up the probe for disinfection and will return it once cleaned
